3.10 Threatened Species

At least 61 marine, estuarine and coastal species recorded from the West Coast (and no doubt others that have not yet been recorded) have been given a threat classification by the Department of Conservation89, based on specified criteria90. These are listed in Appendix 4 according to their primary habitat and their threat status listing.
